The front and rear covers have some light surface creasing. There is a little chipping to the top corners of the front and rear covers. The rear cover has some surface staining across the bottom. Edge rubbing to the spine with a little chippng at the top and bottom and small tears on either side at the top and bottom. Page edges browned. Pages browned with a little wear to the edges and a little creasing and chipping to the top corners at the front of the book but otherwise unmarked. First printing.

XMAS 1953 in small capital letters on the FFEP and two un-necessary labels on the title page (that say novel by Nigel Tranter) otherwise a fine copy in a near fine D/W with a couple of tiny chips at the base of the spine not affecting any lettering. Overall a lovely copy of the first Nye Tredgold western and exceedingly uncommon. Nigel Tranter (1909-2000) was a Scottish historian and author, and writing under the pseudonym Nye Tredgold (Tredgold was his father's middle name) produced some Westerns to provide additional income. Thirsty Range was his first Western.
