Gold gilt top page edges. Has a photogravure frontispiece, many in-text black and white illustrations, and a folding map. There's a neat former owner's name & notes on the ffep.

Originally published in this edition by Dent in 1905 and reprinted six times prior to this revised edition which has a new preface. Navy blue lettering and decorations on the front panel and gilt lettering and decorations on the spine - these are all quite bright. There is a small nick at the top of the spine and some discolouration to the front and rear panels. Page edges are browned. Webbing slightly exposed at the half-title page but the binding is secure. Endpapers are browned with some light spotting at the front and back of the book but the pages are otherwise unmarked. Illustrated by Nelly Erichsen. No jacket.
