This book arose from a series of articles that were sent to Eric Parker at the offices of 'The Field' magazine, where he was shooting editor. They describe the daily life of a stalker in the Highlands of Scotland, and have been divided into the following parts: The Stalker, The Rifle, The Forest, and Stalking Days. The identity of the author of the articles is not known. The book is bound in the original green cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and a small blind-stamped publisher's emblem on the bottom corner of the rear board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling to the boards and bumping to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with a name and date (1926) written on the front free endpaper and a bookplate on the front free and fixed endpapers.

By reading these fascinating accounts of the experiences of others we can improve our knowledge, and perhaps this delightful book - with greatly improved illustrations from the earlier edition - will help to illustrate the viewpoint of the professional stalker, whose knowledge and efforts are paramount to the success of most stalking."
