    Incisione all'acquaforte di mm 375 x 530 alla battuta su carta vergata veneziana di gran corpo. Ottimo esemplare con buoni margini esterni. Sotto il medaglione il blasone dei Manin e la seguente iscrizione : "Ludovicus Maninus Divi Marci Procurator Anno MDCCLXIIII" e in piccolo sotto l'immagine a sinistra "Car. Orsolini del: et sculp." e a destra : "Alles. Longhi Pinxit". La incisione rappresenta infatti il futuro ultimo Doge di Venezia nell'occasione della sua entrata a Procuratore di San Marco, massima carica dello Stato dopo quella del Doge. Carlo Orsolini nacque a Venezia verso il 1704 e ivi morì nel 1784. Secondo il Moschini : "contendeva vanamente del primato nell'intaglio con Giannatonio Faldoni, avendone tutti e due avuta principalmente la stessa maniera a un solo taglio". 18mo secolo.…

Contemporary sprinkled paper boards, with paper spine labels bearing the title and volume number. The first volume opens with a half-title carrying an abbreviated title, followed by a fine engraved frontispiece portrait of the author, engraved by Carlo Orsolini after a design by Jacopo Nazari. Title pages printed in red and black, featuring an elegant engraved vignette depicting an allegory of Venice, together with a few early manuscript annotations.
