So wurde von Kyrie die Behandlung sekundärer, aber auch primärer Lues in großem Maßstab mit zum Teil außer-ordentlich günstigen Erfolgen durchgeführt. Auch an unserer Klinik wurden viele Fälle von latenter und nervöser sekundärer Lues mit günstigem Erfolge behandelt. Cm nur einen Begriff von der Zahl der insgesamt an der Klinik mit Malaria behandelten Fälle zu geben,sei darauf hingewiesen, daß diese Zahl, zuzüglich der externen Fälle, derzeit schon annähernd "2000 erreicht hat, daß von den beiden an der Klinik in Verwendung stehenden Malaria tertiäna-Stämmen der eine die 135. Passage von Mensch zu Mensch, der andere ältere aber schon die 144. erreicht hat. In diesem Umstand spricht sich die biologisch sehr bemerkenswerte Tatsache aus, daß ein parasitär lebendes Protozoon, hier der Malaria tertiana-Parasit, unter völliger Aufgabe des bisherigen gemischt geschlechtlich-sporogonischen und ungeschlechtlich-schizogonischen Entwicklungsganges mit Beibehaltung des einen ungeschlechtlich-schizogonischen Entwicklungszweiges. 144 direkte "Zwischenwirts"-Passagen (zum Unterschied von der von den Zoologen als Wirtstier betrachteten Anophelesmücke) durchmachen kann, ohne hiebei, dies sei gleich vorweggenommen, an seinen Lebens-äußerungen, an Toxizität, Infektiosität und an seiner Morphologie irgend welche nachweisbare Veränderungen zu erfahren. Von den Stämmen der Wiener psychiatrischen Klinik wurden eine Reihe in- und ausländischer Spitäler und Kliniken versorgt, an denen die Malariatherapie mit Erfolg geübt wird.
