Steidle's urban development schemes, recent projects and important early works are placed in a relational context in terms of form and content to give insights into his architecture. Concluding the description of Steidle's works is a presentation of the new buildings at the University of Ulm completed in 1994. The main themes chosen to illustrate his work are structures - of individual buildings as well as in urban planning, the system of vertical and horizontal access within a building construction, building in context and colour.
