The center section contains a story with about a dozen fairy tale & rhyme characters portrayed by black children, old style with exagerated facial features. These are in the middle of the book, front and rear have typical stories with all white characters. Were they semi-hidden on purpose? Good condition with most of the spine missing, contents are average VG to near fine printed on typical cheap paper, usual for most of the Saalfield Co. books. Quite scarce. Not in Bader or Baumgarten, not on worldcat.

Closed tears on the edges of some pages. The binding is cracked and pulling away from the spine. **Over sized book. Extra shipping may be required**.
