Consisting of 3 articles, all by R. P. Whitfield: "The Description of a New Species of Crinoid from the Burlington Limestone at Burlington, Iowa; Remarks on Dictyophyton, and Descriptions of new species of allied forms from the Keokuk Beds at Crawfordsville, Ind.; Observations on the purposes of the embriotic sheaths of Endoceras, and their bearing on the origin of the siphon in the orthocerata." The list of trustees includes such notables as Morgan, Harriman, and Vanderbuilt. The president of the Museum was Morris K. Jesup. The journal's binding is fragile, but in-tact, the text is clean w/3 hard-stock fold-outs of the animals described. However, the back and spine cover is missing. The front cover is heavily worn, w/foxing tears, chips, a stamp, and numbers in fountain pen.
