This scarce archaeological bulletin (No. 2) presents the primary report on the landmark excavations at Pandu Rajar Dhibi in the Ajay Valley (Burdwan District). Directed by P.C. Das Gupta, this excavation was pivotal in establishing the existence of a sophisticated Chalcolithic (Copper Age) civilization in Bengal. Key Findings Documented: Material Culture: Descriptions of Black-and-Red ware pottery, microliths, and copper ornaments. Burial Practices: Evidence of fractional burials and urn burials. Maritime Links: The author's controversial but fascinating hypothesis linking the site's seals and pottery to Minoan/Cretan civilizations and maritime trade. Illustrations: Contains line drawings of pottery shapes and black-and-white photographic plates of the trenches and finds. Interior is clean and unmarked. This copy has its original binding and dust jacket. Dustjackets has some tears and shelf wear.
