Il disegno, eseguito dal vero, è opera di Cockburn, incisore e litografo inglese, maggiore generale d`artiglieria e cadetto alla Royal Military Academy di Woolwich; Cockburn ebbe come maestro di disegno topografico il pittore S. Sandby, egli soggiornò spesso in Italia, perlopiù in Piemonte. La trasposizione in stampa, eseguita con abile tratteggio, spetta a C. J. Hullmandel, litografo tedesco attivo in Inghilterra. Veduta prospettica del Monte dei Cappuccini e del ponte Vittorio Emanuele, presa dalle rive del fiume Po; sullo sfondo, molto ravvicinato è raffigurato il Castello del Valentino. Tavola tratta da opera di viaggi, impressa a Londra agli albori di questa innovativa tecnica tipografica , rappresentativa dei più bei siti da Torino a Lione, passando per il Moncenisio. Esemplare in buone condizioni conservative.
