Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a tapestry, a woven account of the history of tapestries themselves. The author traces the development of tapestry from its origins in the ancient world to its zenith in 15th and 16th century France and Flanders. Along the way, the book examines the techniques, materials, and designs used in tapestries, as well as the social and cultural contexts in which they were created. The book is full of beautiful illustrations and in-depth scholarship, making it an essential resource for anyone interested in the history of art and textiles, as well as in the broader history of human civilization. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. No Jacket. 5th or later Edition. Condition: VG+-NF. 12mo. size, 2 volumes, 750 pp. total. Published 1916 and 1917, 27th edition. Text in French. Half-bound in green leather, with gilt-ruled borders, over glossy paper with gold vein overprinted on Spanish Moire marbled in green, blue, and red. Five raised bands on the spines, with all compartments gilt, and top edges gilt as well, with the other edges roughcut. Endpapers are printed Spanish Moire on Turkish in tan, blue, and clay. The spine leather has faded to a rich brown, the cover leather has lost some of its texture to handling, and the corners and spine ends have slight wear. Volume I has some very slight foxing/staining through the half-title, and there is light browning towards the page edges of both volumes, but the rest of the text is very clean, the top gilt is still bright with only minor wear, the bindings are tight, and the covers and spine are in excellent shape. Overall a very presentable set, which has aged handsomely.

Aggiungi al carrelloCondizione: Gut. 37 S., 44 Tafeln. Einband berieben.
