Prima edizione
Paperback. xv, 351p., preface, appendixes, sources, indexes, 8p. glossy b&w photo section, light toning to pages common to UK publication otherwise a very good first UK edition, fitst printing trade paperback in pictorial wraps. Authorized biography of the English tenor who was the lifelong companion of Benjamin Britten.
8vo, cloth, dust jacket, xiv, 242pp. First edition. Inscribed at the title page to Jean and Ted [Uppman] (the latter was a singer and performed the title role in a 1951 Covent Garden production of "Billy Budd") by an unknown party (perhaps the editor but I can't square the signature with his name). Good/Good: a generally clean and solid copy but mild soiling to the edges, so merely Good; a bright and whole jacket but a number of superficial scratches and so only Good.
