Obere Ecke bestoßen, im Ganzen minimal gestaucht. - 1821 wurde der aus zwölf Objekten bestehende "Schatzfund von Brestovac" entdeckt und befindet sich seitdem in der Antikensammlung des Kunsthistorischen Museum Wien. Elf der gefundenen Objekte bestehen aus Gold, dabei handelt es sich sowohl um von Frauen getragenen Schmuck als auch um Gürtelbeschläge für Männer. Über die näheren Umstände des Fundes ist wenig bekannt, neueste Forschungen gehen aber eher von Grabbeigaben als von einem Schatzfund aus. Unter Verwendung von Analysen des Rasterelektronenmikroskops am Vienna Institute of Archaeological Science (VIAS) der Universität Wien wurden die Objekte auf individuelle Werkzeugspuren und auf regionale Gemeinsamkeiten zum Beispiel mit Objekten aus ähnlichen Funden untersucht. Die Ergebnisse der Forschungen und Vergleiche reflektieren die mannigfachen kulturellen Einflüsse, denen die Fundregion am Ende des 8. bzw. in der ersten Hälfte des 9. Jahrhunderts ausgesetzt war. So ähneln die Gürtelbeschläge von Brestovac in ihrer Herstellung zum Beispiel einem Teil der goldenen Gefäße des "Schatzfundes von Nagyzentmiklós" aus dem heutigen Rumänien - ebenfalls in der Antikensammlung des KHM Wien aufbewahrt -, der allerdings nicht so qualitätvoll gearbeitet ist.
