Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. London: W. Simpkin & R. Marshall, 1826. First edition. viii,135,[1]pp. §From the preface & imprint it seems that the obscure Halpin was a sometime London visitor to the then-fashionable spa town rather than a resident. 'The Cheltenham Anthology comprising Original Poems and Translations' was published under his own name in 1825. The volume offered here (the first series appeared in 1820) contains a seemingly unrecorded poetical contribution to the literature of dandyism: 'Forenoon at Cheltenham [From the Diary of a Dandy] - The Levée. . . The Sortie', etc. An unsophisticated copy in original drab boards, uncut, plain spine as issued in the case of this copy. Loss to edges of spine revealing paper beneath, but covers perfectly tight & sound. In all other respects, a very good copy.
