Glossy black and white paper covers have bumping and creasing to edges and corners with a few small nicks and tears at the top and bottom of spine and light peeling to the corner tips. Light overall scuffing and soiling to covers as well with a bit of the color scuffed off along the edges and spine. Spine is lightly creased but binding is still tight. Previous owner's gift inscriptions and an Italian American Political action Committee business card is affixed to page opposite the title page. Pages are otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-library. A good reading copy. Peter G. Treves (1915 - 1992), was a financier, economist, publisher and author in America. Treves fled his native Italy in the 1930's to escape Fascism, going to London as a post-graduate student and then to New York to work on Wall Street. Among his many pursuits, Treves published newsletters on Italy's economy and its tourism. He also ran a magazine on Italian trade for the American Chamber of Commerce for Trade and he published books on opera. He wrote for Italian newspapers in the United States and Italy and also ran a business distributing hundreds of foreign periodicals in the United States. This book presents a collection of articles Treves wrote for "America OGGI" and 'Il Popolo Italiano" during 1989 - 1991. Includes introductions by Furio Colombo, A. Orsatti and Andrea Mantineo.
