STC 684 VD 16 C694 this annymous work probably wrongly ascribed to Peter Canisius. They were actually compiled by the Dutch Jesuit Peter Busaeus. Canisius was a Dutch jesuit preist of the 16th century, and a notable figure in the counter-reformation. Sold primarily for well preserved stamped embossed designs on cover. This works contains multiple biblical references, and was part of a wider clarificiation of Catholic doctrine in response to the protestant reformation.
