Der Plural "Bina Sanctarum Elisabetharum" (Beider Heiligen Elisabeth) bezieht sich wohl darauf, dass Elisabeth sowohl Patronin von Thüringen als auch Hessen ist. - "Elisabeth von Thüringen (geboren 1207 in Pressburg oder in Sárospatak (Ungarn) auf Burg Rákóczi; gestorben 16. oder 17. November 1231 in Marburg an der Lahn) war eine ungarische Prinzessin und deutsche Landgräfin. Sie wird auch Elisabeth von Ungarn genannt (ungarisch Árpád-házi Szent Erzsébet).
