Legature coeve in mz.pelle con titoli in oro ai dorsi. Minime spellature ai piatti marmorizzati. Opera adorna di 200 incisioni a soggetto satirico fuo…ri testo, oltre a svariate vignette nel testo. Il primo volume consta di doppio frontespizio, il primo dei quali decorato con cornice a motivi allegorici. Capilettera ornati e finalini ad ogni singolo capitolo. Testo in bordura a doppio filo. Buon esemplare, salvo fisiologiche arrossature e qualche vecchio restauro. Michelangelo Pinto (Roma, 1818) fu console d'Italia e docente di letteratura italiana a San Pietroburgo. Proprietario del foglio satirico "Don Pirlone", si trasferì a Torino dopo la caduta della Repubblica Romana e qui dette alle stampe la presente Opera, che fustiga con satira pungente i costumi della restaurazione romana. Dopo la caduta della Repubblica Romana Pinto fuggì a Torino dove pubblicò la presente opera, mantenendo lo stile satirico che aveva fatto la fortuna del giornale romano."Don Pirlone" fu un quotidiano pubblicato nel 1848 e 1849 a seguito dei moti del 1848: ebbe da subito un enorme successo proprio per il suo linguaggio diretto, l'utilizzo della satira politica (principalmente contro il Papato, la Francia e l'Austria) e della caricatura nelle vignette. E' riconosciuto infatti come uno dei più importanti giornali satirici illustrati italiani del Risorgimento. Numero di tavole: 306 pp.XIII,204;(4),204;(6),216 altezza 26 larghezza 17.5 Opera in tre volumi. Esemplari in discrete condizioni.Legature in mezza pelle e piatti telati, titoli e fregi dorati ai dorsi. Le legature risultano in cattive condizioni con diffuse abrasioni ai piatti, ai bordi e agli angoli ricurvi; spellature ai dorsi e alle cerniere; macchie brune ai piatti, in particolare al piatto posteriore del terzo volume che vede coinvolta anche la porzione inferiore del dorso.Legatura del terzo volume allentata.Tagli maculati con macchie di polvere.Carte lievemente brunite con sparse fioriture in particolare ai bordi; leggermente più marcate al terzo volume.Presenza di gora di umidità ai bordi superiori delle carte del terzo volume.Tutti e tre i volumi presentano il doppio frontespizio, il primo di ogni volume decorato con cornice a motivi allegorici; numero annotato a matita ai secondi frontespizi.Testo in Lingua Italiana.Per chi fosse interessato, disponibili ulteriori fotografie.
