On the other hand, rainfall is one of the most complicated effective hydrologic processes in runoff prediction. In the present study an attempt has be…en made to develop artificial neural networks (ANN) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) models for forecasting of daily rainfall for monsoon period of Junagadh, Gujarat, India. The data of period (1st June to 30th October) of years 1979-1981, 1984-1989 and 1991-2007 were used to train the models and data of years 2008-2011 were used for test the models. The sensitivity analysis was used to identify the most important parameter for rainfall prediction. In ANN model, back-propagation algorithm and sigmoid activation function used to train and test the models while in ANFIS models, gaussian and generalized bell membership function are used. It was found from the study that the performance of the ANN double hidden layer model with four input parameters is better than the ANFIS model. The sensitivity analysis indicated that the most important input parameter besides rainfall itself is the vapour pressure in rainfall forecasting. 100 pp. Englisch.

El análisis de sensibilidad se utilizó para identificar el parámetro más importante para la predicción de las precipitaciones. En el modelo RNA, se utilizó el algoritmo de retropropagación y la función de activación sigmoidea para entrenar y probar los modelos, mientras que en los modelos ANFIS se utilizaron las funciones de membresía gaussiana y de campana generalizada. Del estudio se desprende que el rendimiento del modelo ANN de doble capa oculta con cuatro parámetros de entrada es mejor que el modelo ANFIS. No presente…estudo, procurou-se desenvolver modelos de redes neuronais artificiais (RNA) e de sistemas de inferência neuro-fuzzy adaptativos (ANFIS) para a previsão da precipitação diária durante o período de monção em Junagadh, Gujarat, Índia. Os dados do período (1 de junho a 30 de outubro) dos anos 1979-1981, 1984-1989 e 1991-2007 foram utilizados para treinar os modelos e os dados dos anos 2008-2011 foram utilizados para testar os modelos. A análise de sensibilidade foi utilizada para identificar o parâmetro mais importante para a previsão da precipitação. No modelo ANN, o algoritmo de retropropagação e a função de ativação sigmoide foram utilizados para treinar e testar os modelos, ao passo que nos modelos ANFIS, foram utilizadas as funções de afiliação gaussiana e de sino generalizada.
