The volume includes the photographic frontispiece showing Stanyon performing his "Eastern Water-Pot" paper-folding feat. Stanyon became an influential writer and publisher in the literature of magic, making this early instructional volume particularly desirable to collectors of nineteenth-century conjuring books.
