Each volume features an engraved frontispiece portrait of noted authors. The Noctes Ambrosianae are a series of 71 imaginary colloquies which appeared in Blackwood's Magazine between 1822 and 1835. The earlier colloquies had several different authors however Professor John Wilson was the predominate author. This edition collects the thirty-nine dialogues written by Wilson, and is edited by his son in law Professor Ferrier. Uniformly bound in full calf bindings. Externally very smart with some minor shelfwear. Spines slightly sunned. Occasional marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with only occasional spots and handling marks, heavier to earlier pages. Very Good Indeed. book.
