Christopher Lever was a zoologist and author of works on nature.Illustrated with a full colour frontispiece and 15 monochrome and colour plates. Collated complete.In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper.This work was written as a collaboration between I. R. P. Heslop, G. E. Hyde and R. E. Stockley and provides a comprehensive monograph on the Purple Emperor butterfly. The work consists of a collection of papers from the three authors on the butterfly in focus and is accompanied by photographic plates taken by G. E. Hyde including portraits of the authors. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely with only slight bumping to the tail of the spine and to the extremities of the boards.
