Dos fendu, exemplaire enrichi d'un envoi autographhe signé de Marcel REJA."Marcel REJA, docteur Paul MEUNIER ( 1873-1957 ), était aliéniste à l'asile de Villejuif. Il préface en 1898 l'ouvrage de August STRINBERG "INFERNO" publié au Mercure de France chez qui il publie L'Art chez les Fous, l'un des premiers ouvrages en France à étudier sous un aspect esthétique la création artistique des aliénés, mais aussi des enfants ou des "sauvages". Publié huit ans après la première exposition d'oeuvres de malades mentaux au Bethlem Royal Hospital de Londres, REJA y analyse le processus de création et les "conditions intérieures susceptibles de mettre en oeuvre l'activité artistique". Il étudie également la prose et la poésie de ceux que BLAVIER appellera bien plus tard "les Fous Littéraires", en consacrant quelques pages de son livre à Jean-Pierre BRISSET et particulièrement à LA SCIENCE DE DIEU paru en 1900."
