This set is number 132 of 630 copies prined on Lafuma paper. Illustrated throughout by French illustrator, painter and designer Robert Bonfils, with 794 monochrome vignettes and 112 full page illustrations, both monochrome and in vibrant colour. Collated, complete. The complete works of 19th-century French author Henri Rene Albert Guy de Maupassant. Maupassant's short stories depict human lives and social forces in disillusioned and often pessimistic terms. Including the poetry and three hundred short stories of Maupassant, alongside the his six novels - including 'Une Vie', 'Bel-Ami' and 'Pierre et Jean' - and his three travel works such as 'La Vie Errante' and 'Sur L'eau'. With the publisher's orginal front wraps bound in to the start of each volume. With a preface and notices from Rene Dumesnil. In half morocco bindings with marbled paper covered boards, and gilt detailing to back strips.
