G. Bird'.With a loosely inserted signed leaf reading 'please accept this book from the Author in memory of past kindnesses, Jan 5th, 1931'.With a loosely inserted handwritten letter from the author: 'My dear John, many thanks for your letter and list of names. I am very grateful to you for taking so much trouble. Please accept this copy of my poems with my kind wishes'. A post-script adds that 'there are one or two misprints unintentionally, which I have has to correct with the pen'.Indeed, the author has made small neat corrections to four pages. In the publisher's original cloth backed, paper covered boards. Back strip age toned, with light shelf wear to back strip tail, otherwise externally excellent. Inscription to front pastedown.
