First edition of this work, limited to one-hundred copies, of this this is number twenty-nine. An edition limited to two-hundred and fifty copies bound in red cloth was issued in the same year. Containing a complete history of Holy Trinity priory of York by the Rev. John Solloway. A Benedictine monastery founded in 1089 as Micklegate Priory by Ralph Paynel, and dedicated to the Holy Trinity, this is now a Grade I listed parish church in York.Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece and thirty-four full page plates of illustrations. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's paper vellum binding with titles in gilt to spine and front board. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, boards lightly marked and rubbed, back strip darkened. Previous owner's gift inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1910. Internally, firmly bound.
