First edition hardback, no dustjacket. The cloth binding has some light wear and the spine is browning, it remains sound. The endpapers are browning. There is some light edge foxing throughout with the first and last few pages more extensively affect ed. Illustrated, 250 + [6].

Binding in good condition with a little shelf wear to top and tail of spine and little rubbing to edges and tips . Inside all pages with full edge gilt in very good clean condition with a little foxing and aging to end papers. A lovely copy.

No date - looks late Victorian, Blue background hardback binding with wear to spine-ends and boards' corners - on the front board there looks to be an gilt-coloured old-fashioned cider/beer flaggon with legs and a head with a little boy running away. The spine is decorated with gilt-coloured stylized flowers and stylized leaves and Giant Alcohol in a gilt-coloured title pnael to top of spine - the spine is age-darkened. The boards are lightly age-grimed. The back board is a blank blue. The flyleaf is showing a residue of glue where a label would have been pasted. Page-edges browned and greyed. A few marks to some pages, some foxing to early anf late pages, browning to both sets of endpapers.
