Rare Riccardo Muti and Chicago Symphony Orchestra collectible item. A pristine copy of Verdi's "Messa da Requiem" CD recording, signed by Riccardo Muti. One of Muti's and CSO's greatest achievements. The first release of the CD on the CSO ReSound Label. Precedes and should not be confused with all other subsequent releases. The First release is now scarce. Presents Riccardo Muti's and CSO's "Messa da Requiem". Muti's landmark debut recording with CSO as its Music Director. "Inaugurates Riccardo Muti's tenure as Music Director with one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Featuring the Chicago Symphony Chorus and four outstanding soloists. Recorded live from sold-out, electrifying concerts, this stunning performance brilliantly captures both the pathos and passion of Verdi's masterpiece. Beautiful, highly emotional, and requiring a truly virtuosic performance" (Publisher's blurb). An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Riccardo Muti and CSO collectors. This copy of the CD of "Verdi: Messa da Requiem" is very boldly and beautifully signed in black pen-marker in front by Riccardo Muti. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. It comes with pristine copies of the two-volume Souvenir Programs of his landmark April 23, 2016 full concert-format rendition of Verdi's final opera, "Falstaff", performed on the occasion of Chicago's "400th Anniversary Shakespeare Festival". This title is a great CD recording. As far as we know, this is the only such signed copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Riccardo Muti rarely does public signings, and when he does, limits what he is willing to sign to one piece per person, making signed materials scarce. A rare signed copy thus. Winner of two Grammy Awards for Best Classical Album and Best Choral Performance in 2011 for "Verdi: Messa da Requiem". One of the greatest musical geniuses of our time. A fine copy.
