Front and rear hinges are shaken but text block remains firm. Total of ten St. John illustrations all present as called for on "Illustrations" page - nine b/w plates on unpaged leaves plus b/w map of Pal-ul-Don (done by Burroughs) on page 402. Book now presented in a trimmed clear Dura-Lar (polyester film) sheet forming a dj which aids the compromised hinges and modestly enhances shelf appearance.

Nevertheless, a very attractive, colid copy of an extremely scarce early Tarzan title.
