Hardcover with dustjacket, book is in excellent condition, no remarkable flaws, jacket has moderate tanning on the spine and edges, the jacket is clean and presentable, there are no other remarkable flaws, (15/-) the original price is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, the letters were addressed to the general's relatives and friends and were written from Portugal and Spain, illustrated with a frontis portrait of the general and two double-page end-paper maps.
