Prix Goncourt 1904, succès littéraire, roman sociologique, récit à la première personne, roman dit réaliste, écrit par un homme, le romancier français Léon Frapié (1863-1949), et dont la narratrice est une femme…. Plusieurs fois adapté au cinéma. Illustrations en noir par l'artiste peintre, illustrateur et graveur suisse Robert Wehrlin (1903-1964), mouvance école de Paris. Tirage à (3 + 10 + 15 + 300+20) 348 exemplaires sur 3 papiers. Deuxième papier, après 3 exemplaires sur Japon nacré (lettrés A, B, C), notre exemplaire sur Rives B.F.K. est l'un des 15 (numérotés romain de XI à XXV, après 10 numérotés I à X) qui est accompagné de 2 suites, l'une sur Rives B.F.K. et la seconde sur Madagascar ; il est justifié XII et bien accompagné de ses 2 suites. Suit le tirage ordinaire de 300 exemplaires sur Renage, numérotés de 26 à 325, sans aucun accompagnement supplémentaire, et 20 exemplaires marqués H.C. réservés aux collaborateurs, paraphés par l'éditeur. Imprimé sur les presses de l'Imprimerie Nationale le 8 novembre 1946. Les lithographies ont été tirées sur les presses de René Guillard à Paris. Couverture souple protégée par son papier glassine, titre en vert sur le plat. Avec les 2 suites à part, sous chemise et emboîtement (environ 30.5 x 24.5 x 9 cm) rigides de l'éditeur. Ensemble assez lourd, environ 4700 g avec un bon emballage, prévoir un éventuel supplément pour les frais d'expédition ; nous vous renseignons volontiers. Etat : Bon. Emboîtement : acceptable, accidents (réparations simples), frotté, usé, défraîchi (Cela s'harmonise bien avec l'histoire de ce roman. LoL). Chemise : accidents, devrait être réparée car déchirures entre les plats et le dos, ce qui n'est pas difficile à faire. Intérieur : très bon, état d'ancienneté.
