Wolf Heidenheim was a German exegete and grammarian. He…entered into partnership with Baruch Baschwitz, an energetic business man; they obtained from the Count of Solms-Rödelheim, under favorable conditions, a license to establish a printing-press at Rödelheim, whither they removed in 1799. Heidenheim immediately began an edition of the Mahzor, with Judeo German translation by himself and Breidenbach (1800). In order to give a correct text, Heidenheim had secured the most ancient manuscripts, among them being one of 1258, as well as the earliest Italian and German editions.

The scarce second edition of Rabbi Aaron ben Mordecai of Rödelheim's (born ca.1695) Yiddish translation of the two known Targumim of… the biblical book of Esther. The first of the Aramaic Targumim (Aramaic Translations or paraphrases of the books of the bible) is more common and well known, while the second targum is noted for its embellishments on the Biblical account, with considerable additional apocryphal material, not always evidently related to the Esther story. The Yiddish text here is printed throughout in the traditional Vaybertaytsh script. This is the Rabbi Aharon's most notable work, and the first addition was originally published in 1718 in Frankfurt. Binding with light rubbing to extremities. Back board lightly bumped along the side edge. Interior with some chipping/fraying to the edges of the first two leaves resulting in some minimal loss of text. Pages throughout with some sporadic soling or dampstaining. Some chipping and fraying to the final leaf as well. Binding in very good, interior in good+ condition overall. Quite scarce. Hebrew title: ??? ??? ????, ?? ?????? ????, ????? ????? ?????? ???
