La prima parte è dedicata alla storia dell'Accademia, e la seconda contiene l'Elenco degli allievi ammessi dal 1° aprile 1816 al 1° gennaio 1889, con ampie notizie biografiche su ciascuno con le relative carriere militari, e indice alfabetico al termine (con i riferimenti ai ritratti).
