Mit bemerkenswertem Aufwand + viel Liebe selbst verfertigtes deutsches Album einer Rom- und Vatikanreise im Jahre 1938. Teils liebevoll kal…ligraphisch/illustrativ bzw. sehr professionell/künstlerisch gestaltet; das Titelblatt mit prächtigem handgemalten (Papst-?) Wappen in gold-schwarz-weiss-rot, darunter sauberst die kalligraphische Beschriftung "ROMA AETERNA", folgende Seite 3farbig und gekonnt verziert "Tu es Petrus/et super hanc petram/aedificabo ecclesiam meam/et libi dabo claves regni/coelorum." Mit 59 montierten Bildern in ausgewogener Verteilung (= Orig. Fotos, Postkarten, Bilder, Zeitschriften- oder Buchausschnitten, teils ganzseitig und farbig, sowie 1 maschinenschriftlicher Text und 2 Pflanzenbestandteilen/Blätter eines Klostergartens). Schöne, geschlossene und äußerst interessante Auswahl von Bildern und orig. Fotos, z.B. ganzseitiges Bild eines Soldaten der Schweizer Garde in Renaissance Uniform, aber mit Mauser Repetiergewehr (gerader Kammerstengel, Gewehr- nicht Karabinerlänge, kein ital. Carcano Gewehr), folgende Seite: Kleines Papst Bildchen (Foto Pius XI., montiert auf Goldgrund und grauer Pappe), darunter original Foto 9x14cm "Audienz bei Papst Pius XI" (vorne Menschen, Hintergrund Papst Pius XI mit 2 behelmten Gardisten/Soldaten), Folgeseite kalligraphisch 3farbig "Der große Meister" mit Fotopostkarte Michelangelos, Folgeseite 2 Fotos (u.a. Kopf Pietta), nächste Seite 2 Farbbilder mit Köpfen des Deckengemäldes aus der Sixtinischen Kapelle, Folgeseite meisterhaftes orig. Foto 13,5x8cm Kuppel Petersdom zwischen Säulen hindurch fotografiert, wieder 3farbig herrlich beschriftet "Bramante plante. Nachfolger korrigierten und verdrängten. Bis dann Michelangelo kam, der Greis, der mit den Armen eines Titanen die Kuppel emporhob, bis sie schweben blieb - und mit ihr das "Pneuma Bramantes"." Weitere Seiten zeigen in vergleichbarer Qualität/Gestaltung u.a. Raphael, Werke von ihm, röm. Bauten bzw. Kirchen z.B. "In Santa Prisca auf dem Aventin" sowie San Saba, Santa Sabina, San Anselno (je orig. Fotos), und viele weitere, Via Appia, "In den Kallistus-Katakomben" mit orig. Postkarte + handgezeichneter Öllampe, "Besuch im Germanicum" mit orig. Foto 14x9cm (offensichtlich der Verfasser inmitten 6 Patres), Folgeseite 6 orig. Fotos röm. Motive (Verfasser auf Petersplatz, seine Frau, Engelsburg, Tiberbrücken etc.), weiter werden die Grotten von Sankt Peter/Grabmale, röm. Brunnen, Denkmäler und antike Bauten in Wort und Bild behandelt. Viele Bilder/Fotos sind mehrfarbig zeichnerisch "eingerahmt" und teils auf verschiedenfarbige Kartonunterlagen (grau, grün, lila) montiert, was einen "Bilderrahmen-" bzw. "zweidimensionalen" Effekt ergibt. Insgesamt sehr schönes und aussagekräftiges "Bilder-Album" von Rom und dem Vatikan, mit Liebe, Sachverstand, künstlerischem Verständnis und ebensolchem Talent angelegt; von einem deutschen "Bildungsbürger" (oder gebildeten Katholiken) im Vorjahr des 2. Weltkrieges entstanden, komplett und unberührt. Geschlossene und ausgewogene Thematik, homogene Gestaltung/Ausführung, Bebilderung und Beschriftung. Interessantes Zeitdokument von geschichtlichem und ästhetischem Wert, viel mehr als die üblichen, banalen Fotoalben mit spartanischer Beschriftung und winzigen Dutzendfotos! REGAL Schubl. Einband teils etwas berieben, Bezugspapier Deckel Einriß (klebbar, ohne Substanzverlust), Albumseiten papierbedingt gleichmäßig/einheitlich nachgebräunt, hinterer Innendeckel orig. Herstelleretikett des Leeralbums "Tebe" Photothek e.W.-Z. Nr. 9402/chamois" (=e.W.-Z. bedeutet eingetragenes Waren-Zeichen, und Tebe ist ein deutscher Hersteller), innen gut, sauber, komplett, vollständig, alle Seiten + Fotos/Bilder vorhanden, insgesamt guter Zustand.
