Già apparso in edizione italiana per… Carabba con traduzione di Biagio Chiara nel 1912 e in successive riedizioni Carabba nel corso degli anni Dieci «I paradisi artificiali» comparve infine anche nella bella e ormai rarissima edizione Modernissima qui presentata a cura del traduttore, commediografo e giornalista Attillio Rovinelli. Pubblicata nel 1922 dalla storica casa editrice milanese animata da Gian Dàuli il cui prestigioso catalogo in cui spiccavano su tutte le opere dei simbolisti francesi sarebbe poi progressivamente confluito, a partire dal 1932, nella Corbaccio di Enrico Dall'Oglio (che di Modernissima era stato direttore proprio tra il 1922 e il 1923), questa nuova versione si inserisce in un'importante fase di riscoperta italiana o, per certi versi, di scoperta, se si considera la scarsa attenzione critica delle precedenti traduzioni e dei precedenti studi di Baudelaire, aperta nel 1921 in occasione del centenario della nascita del poeta e scrittore francese. La stessa Modernissima, oltre a «I paradisi artificiali», diede alle stampe già nel 1921 «I Fiori del Male» (pubblicati per la prima volta da Sonzogno nel 1894), i «Poemetti in prosa», i racconti contenuti in «La Fanfarlo - Il giovane incantatore», i «Diari intimi. Il mio cuore nudato» e le «Lettere», tutte tradotti da Decio Cinti. Berardinelli, Baudelaire nelle traduzioni italiane (2015), n. 22 a p. 60 in 16°, brossura con notevole disegno di copertina a colori in stile Liberty (non firmato), pp. 252 [4 con indice]. Prima edizione di questa traduzione.
