First edition of this political anthology, reprinting pamphlets by such figures as John Milton, Gerrard Winstanley, Edmund Burke, and William Morris. Orwell and Taylor also provided introductions to volumes I and II, where the former wrote "it is necessary that people should once again become aware of the possibilities of the pamphlet as a means of influencing opinion" (p. 16).
