During and after the second world war, over 1100 cases of missle wound of the brain were studied in detail from the Military Hospital for Head Injuries, and these included over 250 patients rendered aphasic by the injury. The problems of cerebral dominance in right and left handers are fully explored, while the relationships between speech and mental disorders, such as amnesia, lead to a discussion of many facets of cerebral activity.
