At the time of publication the authors noted that it did not yet offer a complete study of the subject as knowledge of this aspect of Australian botany was "appallingly meagre." Theirs is a commendable, worthwhile and thorough effort to fill that gap. Not only does it identify in picture and text the various species but also offers advice on cultivation. First published 1976 with reprints 1977,1978. There are eight chapters, four appendices, glossary. bibliography and index. 294 pages, 60 colour photographs, b/w line drawings/diagrams throughout, decorative e/papers.
