Die Interpretation derselben wi…rd von Rorschach selbst als "ein besonderer Fall von Wahrnehmung" be- zeichnet, die er als "eine assoziative Assimilation der verfügbaren Engramme (Bilder-Erinnerungen) mit Kom- plexen von frischen Empfindungen" definiert. Die Be- wusstheit der Assimilationsarbeit prägt zwar die Inter- pretation der Wahrnehmung; letztendlich kommt diesem Umstand jedoch keine wesentliche Bedeutung zu. Demgegenüber muss die Malerei, wie jede künstlerische Tätigkeit, als Ergebnis eines Vorgangs von "intuitivem Ausdruck" (B. Croce, Brevario di estetica. Bari 1947) gewertet werden. Dieser führt zur Schöpfung von Bildern, die sich durch die darstellenden Mittel der Malerei ver- wirklichen. Zwischen Malerei und Rorschach-Test bestehen trotz einiger grundsätzlicher Unterschiede interessante Ana- logien. Zunächst die Unterschiede: Im Rorschach-Test reagiert die Vp. auf gleichbleibende äussere Anreize (Aufforderungen), während in der Malerei die eigenen psychischen Inhalte frei projiziert werden. Das Aus- drucksmittel der beiden Versuche ist verschieden: verbal im einen Fall, anschaulich-darstellend im andern. Die Malerei stellt ein spontanes und ursprüngliches Darstel- lungsmittel dar, während das verbale Ausdrucksmittel einen intellektuell entwickelten Charakter trägt. Im Rorschach-Test steht die Vp. im Gespräch einem anderen Individuum gegenüber; die Malerei verläuft ausserhalb des direkten menschlichen Kontaktes. Diesem Umstand kommt bei Geisteskranken eine besondere Be- deutung zu, da viele unter ihnen bekanntlich im Herstellen der menschlichen Beziehungen ausgesprochene Schwie- rigkeiten haben. Demgegenüber bestehen zwischen spontanen Malereien und dem Rorschach-Test signifikante Parallelen: In beiden Fällen projiziert die Versuchsperson die eigenen psychischen Inhalte, indem sie vorwiegend wahrnehmend- anschauliche Elemente, wie Formen, Farben, Raum und Bewegung verwendet. Der Rorschach-Test bezieht seine Folgerungen aus der Prüfung des Inhaltes und der Art der Antworten; ähnlich stützt sich die Analyse des gemal- ten Werkes auf das Studium des Inhaltes und auf den Charakter des Stiles.
