Illustrated with nine full plate wood engravings from British artist, dancer, poet and illustrator Hester Sainsbury. Collated, complete.The first edition thus, being the first to feature Sainsbury's illustrations. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with light fading to spine and fore edge of boards. Internally, firmly bound. Some foxing to first and last few leaves, with scattered light spotting throughout.
