He has worked at the universities of Opole, Innsbruck and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and has held visiting professorships in Edmonton, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Warsaw, Moscow, Chelyabinsk and Wroclaw. Tilmann Reuther studied Russian linguistics and mathematics in Vienna and Slavic linguistics in Klagenfurt. From 2004 until 2018 he was professor of Russian linguistics at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria.
