Neuware - Kleider aus Mauerwerk, Schminkpinsel-Füsse, Hundeoder Vogelköpfe, monströse Augen und Hände, Doughnut-Lippen, Schwimmflossen und Accessoires aus Tanklastern oder Muffins. Klaudia Schifferle schuf ihre Paperdolls aus Material, das sie aus Journalen und Illustrierten ausschnitt und auf DIN-A4-Bögen neu zusammenfügte. Farbig sind die Collagen und frech; manchmal niedlich, häufig maliziös. Entstanden zwischen 2011 und 2016 wurden einige der Bilder auch detailgenau in Öl abgemalt. Durch das Kreieren der Figuren aus gefundenen Bildelementen bekommen die Paperdolls gleich einen doppelten Wert. Sie erzählen von unserer Zeit mit ihren Dingen und öffnen gleichzeitig unsere Wahrnehmung, erinnern Gefühle und Augenblicke. Anziehpuppen aus Papier gab es schon in altchinesischen Begräbnisriten und als katashiro-Figuren in japanischen Heilritualen. In Europa avancierten die Papierfiguren zum Ausschneiden für modeinteressierte Damen der Bourgeoisie zu einembeliebten und preiswerten Zeitvertreib für Kinder und in den USA nach der Great Depression erlebten die Paper Dolls ihr goldenes Zeitalter. Als aussagekräftige Zeugen für Zeitgeschehen und Lebenswirklichkeit sind sie für zeitgenössische Kunstschaffende ein wichtiges Ausdrucksmittel geworden. Kästchen gering defekt. - Die 1955 geborene Zürcher Malerin und Zeichnerin Klaudia Schifferle hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren auch außerhalb ihres Landes mit eigenwilligen, figurativ-expressiven Arbeiten einen Namen gemacht. Den Hintergrund ihres erstaunlich breiten zeichnerischen und malerischen Werkes bildet eine künstlerische Erfahrung, die sich auf eine vielschichtige, parallel in unterschiedlichen Bereichen verlaufende Entwicklung stützt. Ursprünglich mit Zeichnen und Schreiben beschäftigt, kam Klaudia Schifferle in den späten siebziger Jahren in intensiven Kontakt zur Musik und zum Theater. Mit den Frauenbands "Kleenex" und später "Liliput" gab sie 1978-83 zahlreiche Konzerte in der Schweiz sowie im Ausland und brachte mehrere Schallplatten mit Rockmusik heraus. Der gleichzeitigen Mitarbeit am Theater folgten Entwürfe von Bühnenbildern, Gastspiele in einem Zürcher Kabarett und nicht zuletzt die Publikation des Romans "Allüren" im Verlag Nachbar der Welt. Es ist beinahe verwunderlich, daß bei einer derartig hektischen Tätigkeit der Künstlerin Zeit übrig blieb, um weiterhin zu zeichnen und zu malen.Im Unterschied zu den früheren Zeichnungen der siebziger Jahre, die eher spielerisch und suchend der Erkundung des eigenen Ich dienten, erscheinen die neuen Arbeiten komplexer und objektiver, auf die Themen Raum, Erotik und Tod, im weitesten Sinne also auf das Thema Mensch bezogen. Die Selbsterkenntnis wird hier um das nachhaltige Bemühen erweitert, nach außen zu wirken und den inneren Bildern eine existentielle, gleichwohl sinnlich nachvollziehbare Gestalt zu verleihen.
