Gutes Ex.; Seiten etwas gebräunt. - Eine zweite Eigentümlichkeit des vorliegenden Lehrbuches besteht in einem etwas stärker ausgeprägten historischen Charakterzuge desselben. Durch mehrere Dezennien des abgelaufenen Jahrhunderts hindurch waren an den österreichischen Gymnasien psychologische Lehrbücher im Gebrauche, welche sich eng an Herbart anschlössen, ja es sich zur Aufgabe stellten, die Herbartsche Psychologie dem Gymnasiasten verstand- und mundgerecht zu machen. Die in letzter Zeit erschienenen Lehrbücher haben den exklusiven Standpunkt der früher gebräuchlichen verlassen und zeichnen sich durch größere Selbständigkeit aus; auch hat wohl jedes derselben seine Vorzüge. Doch leiden alle an dem getadelten Positivismus und an übertriebener Scheu vor Metaphysik. Auch werden die neuesten Errungenschaften psychologischer Forschung so sehr bewandert und mit Vorzug behandelt, daß dem Studierenden nicht zum Bewußtsein kommt, daß auch das Altertum und die Schulen des Mittelalters Verdienste um die Psychologie haben und ihr wesentliche Bestandteile hinterließen.
