Pasha (1840-1892) was an Ottoman-German Jewish physician and naturalist, and governor of the Egyptian province of Equatoria on the Upper Nile. The Ottoman empire conferred the title "Pasha" on him in 1886, and thereafter he was referred to Emin Pasha.Complete with the two tissue-guarded portraits of Pasha plus a large, folding coloured map (in excellent condition, with just one small blank margin repair. The text is in very good+, tight, clean condition. "Sutton 1889" inscribed on front end paper. Negligible age-browning.
