One of the enduring popular songs of World War II, "Till Then" was written by Eddie Seiler, Sol Marcus, and Guy Wood and published in 1944 at the height of America's wartime separation between servicemen and their families. Introduced by The Mills Brothers, whose Decca recording be…came a major national hit, the song reached the Billboard Best Seller chart and also topped the R&B chart, becoming one of the era's defining songs of longing, reunion, and hope. Its popularity extended well beyond the war, with successful revivals by The Orioles, The Hilltoppers, The Classics, Sammy Davis Jr., James Brown, and many others. This copy retains its attractive original illustrated cover depicting a young couple beneath a tree in a peaceful park landscape, printed in warm sepia tones with a vivid orange title panel. The front advertises the Mills Brothers' Decca release, while the rear promotes another Sun Music success, "You Always Hurt the One You Love," famously paired with "Till Then" as the flip side of the Mills Brothers' hit record. Condition is Very Good. Complete and fully readable with moderate edge wear, rounded corners, scattered creasing, light age toning, and handling wear consistent with use. A small old penciled notation appears at the upper right of the front cover. The rear cover shows a vertical crease, moderate surface wear, and a rectangular area of paper disturbance from the removal of an old price sticker at the upper right. Interior music pages remain clean with only light age toning and modest handling wear. Although many collectors associate "Till Then" with the 1954 Hilltoppers revival, this is the original 1944 Sun Music first-era issue, issued while the song was climbing the charts during World War II. The advertisement for Decca Record No. 18599 firmly places the publication in its original wartime context. Even the rear-cover promotion is historically significant: "You Always Hurt the One You Love" became the A-side companion that helped make the Mills Brothers' record one of the year's biggest double-sided hits. Together, the two songs capture the emotional landscape of wartime American popular music. The songwriting team of Eddie Seiler (1911-1952), Sol Marcus (1912-1976), and Guy Wood (1912-2001) produced several of the best-known American popular songs of the 1940s. Beyond Till Then, they collaborated on wartime standards including "When the Lights Go On Again (All Over the World)" and "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire," works that became closely associated with the home-front experience during World War II. Their songs remain staples of the Great American Songbook and continue to be recorded by jazz, pop, and vocal harmony artists.

Written by Eddie Seiler, Sol Marcus, and Bennie Benjamin, the song was intro…duced in 1942 and later popularized by leading vocalists including Vaughn Monroe and Kate Smith. This original first-year issue features an evocative blue Art Deco-inspired cover depicting a searchlight illuminating the globe, accompanied by the wartime 'Buy War Bonds and Stamps for Victory' emblem - a highly collectible piece of WWII home-front propaganda. The rear cover advertises The Three Suns, one of the era's most popular instrumental groups. This example is in Very Good condition. The paper remains complete and securely bound at the fold with no detached leaves. Moderate handling wear, corner creasing, scattered surface rubbing, and age toning are present, consistent with an original 1942 publication. A previous owner's neat signature appears on the front cover ('Joan Baker'). The interior music pages are clean and fully legible with no performance markings observed.
