Aggiungi al carrelloExhibition catalogue. First edition 2011. 64 pages. Illustrated in colour and line. Paperback. Near fine. This book is a multi-layered visual narrative based on historical findings about Bethnal Green area in London. It was published to coincide with Andro Semeiko's solo show at Acme Project Space. The book is formed in collaboration with cognitive scientist Daniel Harbour, artist and writer Norman Hogg, art historian and writer Neil Mulholland, artist Dushko Petrovich, poet Arron Sands, and astrologer Shelley von Strunckel. The publication reflects on ideas of knowledge acquisition, power and chivalry. It contains images of marine paintings with Turneresque treatment of light referring to old sketches and maps of the East Coast of Britain and the River Thames. Portraits borrow poses and gestures from van Dyke's work, and architectural paintings refer to Inigo Jones' Paladian buildings in the capital and his decorative French fleur-de-lis railings. Aggiungi al carrello25 x 18cm. Illegible signature on inner flap - possibly by one of the contributors. Card wallet containing cards numbered I to VII with unnumbered eighth card, plus 20pp of loose leaf text, with colophon. One of an edition of 150. Designed and edited by Andro Semeiko and printed in-house at the TAP print room. Temporary Arts Project, or TAP, is an artist studio space at The Old Waterworks in Southend-on-Sea. Published on the occasion of Andro Semeiko's residency and solo exhibition at TAP, 24th February to 27th April 2014. Texts by Amy McKenny and Tom Morton. The set of cards constitutes the uncut panels for a "Viaorama" - a form of hanging diorama with a hollow channel. Instructions for building this form the twentieth page of the text. 'Only Words Can Tell You How I Feel' was the culmination of Andro Semeiko's month-long residency at TAP - a multi-layered display of histories, events, stories and memories. It delves into the past of TAP and its surrounding area, conflating fact and fiction in rich, compelling narratives. Semeiko has collaborated closely with the team at TAP, the studio artists and its wider community to give a unique, site-responsive dramatisation. In the exhibition, Semeiko's works were interwoven with text by Amy McKenny and Tom Morton; McKenny reinterpreting TAP's collective voice, and Morton's chronicling a journey of creative thought using the setting of Ray Bradbury's 'The One Who Waits' as a reference point. Not in OCLC or Copac.
