L'éditeur en était Armand Henneuse, belge amoureux de Lyon, et dont la firme se nommait " Les Écrivains réuni ". Le tirage du recueil était modeste : 200 exemplaires. Sotgia-Rovelli avait inventé pour Diaphragme intérieur et un drapeau une reliure exceptionnelle, dont on trouvera la reproduction dans l'unique numéro des Documents internationaux de l'Esprit Nouveau . Et, dans cette même publication, on trouvait l'annonce d'un autre livre de Michel Seuphor : Premier livre de lecture. L'annonce était prématurée, le titre incertain. En fait, ce nouveau recueil vit le jour en mai 1928, et il est probable que son tirage n'excéda pas cent exemplaires. Diaphragme intérieur et un drapeau s'ornait d'une bande imprimée, qui tenait fermé le livre, et proclamait fièrement : " Connaissez-vous Seuphor ? personnellement ? ". Mais de 1926 à 1930, le ton change. Il s'opère, chez Seuphor, un mouvement pendulaire qui le pousse aux excès de la froideur.
