Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the complex and compelling character of Richard III, one of Shakespeareââ â¢s most infamous villains. Through a detailed analysis of the play, the author explores the historical context of Richard IIIââ â¢s rise to power, shedding light on the turbulent era of the Wars of the Roses that shaped his character. The author unpacks Richardââ â¢s motivations, dissecting his Machiavellian ambition, his ruthless pursuit of the crown, and his calculated manipulation of others. The book also examines the themes of morality, justice, and the corrupting influence of power, as these concepts are woven into the fabric of the play. Richardââ â¢s moral decay is starkly contrasted with the contrasting characters of Lady Anne and Buckingham, both of whom are drawn with psychological depth and complexity. Their interactions with Richard reveal the impact of his actions on others and offer insights into the nature of love, betrayal, and the consequences of evil. Ultimately, this book offers a rich and insightful exploration of a Shakespearean tragedy, one that continues to captivate audiences centuries after its original performance. It provides a nuanced understanding of Richard III's character and his place within the tapestry of English history, leaving readers with a deeper appreciation for the play's enduring power. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

The volume has 21 illustrations, in black and white engravings. This volume has red cloth-covered boards, with general wear along the edges, especially the spine; it has gilt lettering and ornament, and gilt page edges.
