Roma, Edizioni Futuriste di Poesia (Tip. L'Alpina, Cuneo), 1925, Prima edizione. [.]

Condizione: Fine. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. Spoletto in Umbria by Cesare Simonetti 1927 on linen excellent original printing Cesare Simonetti designed the Spoleto / Umbria poster in 1927 for the Italian State Railways' tourism campaign. This lithographic poster, measuring approximately 39¼ x 27¾ inches, captures Spoleto's ch…arm with a design reflecting the artistic trends of the time. Spoleto, a historic town in Umbria, features medieval streets, the Romanesque Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, and an ancient Roman theater. Often called the "green heart of Italy," Umbria is known for its rolling landscapes, rich history, and cultural heritage. During the 1920s, the Italian State Railways promoted domestic travel through striking posters. These advertisements encouraged Italians and international visitors to explore the country's scenic and historic sites by train. Cesare Simonetti, born in 1862, was well-known for his commercial art, particularly travel posters. His work appeared in various auctions, demonstrating his lasting influence on early 20th-century Italian design. The Spoleto poster remains a remarkable piece, blending art and travel promotion to highlight Umbria's timeless appeal.
