Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book provides critical analysis of gas-lubricated bearings with inherent orifice compensation, examining their load-carrying capacity under various conditions. The author presents the results of a comprehensive experimental study, encompassing different pad and orifice combinations, gas types (nitrogen and helium), and supply pressures, meticulously detailing the relationship between load-carrying capacity and plate separation. This in-depth investigation extends our understanding of gas-lubricated bearing performance, particularly in the non-laminar region where theoretical treatments are limited. The book offers valuable design charts that assist engineers in predicting the behavior of these bearings under practical operating conditions, contributing to the advancement of gas-lubricated bearing technology in diverse applications, including high-speed machinery, cryogenic systems, and precision instruments. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
